Lake Shastina Police Department Invites Applications for Police Officer
Full Time Officers: $18.51 to $23.64/hour DOE
Part-time/Extra Help Officers: $16.94 to $20.59/hour DOE
Lake Shastina Community Services District Police Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for a full-time police officer and another for part-time reserve officers.
Duties may include: investigate crimes, make arrests, patrol the community to make it safer, work with community relations, mediate disputes, investigate traffic collisions and provide general police services. An officer may also be assigned the additional duties of animal control, vehicle maintenance, facilities maintenance or other tasks.
Full-time Officers work a 40-hour regular work week with a Salary Range of $18.51-$23.64 per hour, DOE, plus employer paid Medical, Dental, Vision coverage and PERS retirement. In addition, officers scheduled on-call shifts are paid at current minimum hourly wage of $12.00. Pay incentives include EMT, intermediate and advanced POST certificates. Officers may be assigned take home vehicles.
Part-time/reserve officers work approximately 950 hours per year with a Salary Range of $16.94-$20.59 per hour, DOE and do not receive benefits, except those required by law.
Applicants must be US Citizens, over 21 years of age, possess a valid California driver’s license and must provide proof of completion of a California POST Basic Academy. POST Basic Certificate and prior full-time law enforcement experience is preferred.
